Mobile RV service in Kent and Puyallup

Kent and Puyallup sit at either end of the SR-167 valley, the flat stretch of the Green and White River valleys between South King County and Pierce County. Kent is warehouses, neighborhoods on the East and West Hills, and storage lots along the valley floor. Puyallup is home to the Washington State Fair grounds, South Hill subdivisions full of trailers and boats in driveways, and Mount Rainier on the skyline. A lot of RVs live in this valley, and a lot of them sit through the wet season waiting for the next trip.

Dealer service bays in the South Sound often book out for weeks, especially in spring. We come to the rig instead. If you searched for mobile RV repair near me from Kent, Auburn or Puyallup, we handle fridges that won’t cool, roof and window leaks, generators that won’t run after sitting, furnaces, water heaters and batteries that died in storage, plus the bigger power work: lithium, solar and Victron systems, and Starlink, Peplink and weBoost.

United Mobile RV LLC is dealership-trained, 11+ years: a Victron Energy Certified Installer, a weBoost Certified Installer/Reseller, a Dometic Professional and a Peplink Certified Associate.

RV parks around Kent and Puyallup

We’re not affiliated with any of these parks. They’re places local RVers stay, and we’ll meet you at your site where the park allows outside technicians:

  • Seattle/Tacoma KOA: at 5801 S. 212th Street in Kent, open all year, with full-hookup pull-through sites and 50-amp service.
  • Washington State Fair Event Center RV park: at 1010 Fairview Drive in Puyallup, with overnight RV parking year-round and water, power and sewer sites. Reservations are required, and a seasonal lot opens for the spring and state fairs.
  • Majestic RV Park: at 6906 52nd Street Court E. in Puyallup, open all year. Most sites are long-term, with a small number of 30/50-amp full-hookup sites for overnight and weekly stays.
  • Riverview RV Park: in Puyallup along the Puyallup River, with daily, weekly, monthly and longer stays.

Most RVs we see in this valley are in driveways and storage lots rather than parks. That works fine for us; tell us the gate code and the space number when you book.

RV life in the Kent and Puyallup valley: rain, storage and fair season

West of the Cascades, water is the biggest threat to an RV. The valley gets months of steady rain from fall through spring, and dried sealant around roof vents, the AC, clearance lights and windows lets it into the walls. By the time you see a stain or a soft spot, it has usually been leaking for a while.

Storage is the other story. A rig parked in a storage lot off SR-167 for the winter comes back in spring with dead batteries, a converter that cooked them, mouse damage in the wiring, and a generator that won’t start on old fuel. Spring is our busiest season here for exactly that reason.

Fair season changes Puyallup. When the Washington State Fair runs in late summer, the fairgrounds RV lots fill, pedestals get crowded, and rigs run AC on warm afternoons. Low voltage and miswired pedestals take out converters and air conditioners, which is why we recommend a surge protector with voltage protection.

Winters are mild but not frost-free. A cold snap still freezes exposed lines, and rigs that sit unheated without winterizing can split a fitting. Cell coverage is good across the valley, so connectivity is usually about Starlink and router setup for travel rather than local dead zones.

RV repairs we do most around Kent and Puyallup

The calls we get most from the SR-167 valley:

  • Water leaks, soft floors and delamination. West of the Cascades, water is the number one enemy of an RV. Failed sealant around roof vents, the AC, clearance lights and window frames lets water into the walls, and by the time you see a stain or a soft spot it has been leaking a while. We trace leaks, reseal, and use thermal imaging and moisture readings to map how far the damage goes. We check the whole roof and every penetration, and tell you plainly whether you need a reseal or a structural repair. See roof and seals.
  • Refrigerators. Absorption fridges that cool on propane but not electric (or the reverse), fridges that won’t light, cooling-unit failures, and residential fridges that shut off because the inverter or batteries can’t keep up. As a Dometic Professional we work on Dometic units every week, and we troubleshoot Norcold and residential fridges too. Fridges are one of our most common South Sound calls, especially in the first warm weeks of spring. See our Dometic fridge guide and electrical and appliance repair.
  • Batteries and converters after storage. Batteries that are flat or swollen after a winter in a storage lot, converters that overcharged them, and parasitic draws that drain a bank in a week. We test, replace what’s failed and fix the cause so it doesn’t happen again. See RV electrical.
  • Generator service and repair. We service and repair Onan, Generac and Kohler RV generators: oil, filters and plugs, plus surging, no-start and shut-down-under-load problems. Gas units that sit for months often surge because old fuel varnishes the carburetor; running the generator under load about once a month helps. Generators that sat all winter on old fuel often surge or won’t start. See generator service.
  • 12V and shore power faults. Fair-week pedestals and old storage-lot outlets cause their share of burnt plugs and tripped breakers. We trace dead outlets, tripping GFCIs, burnt shore power plugs, converters that stopped charging and parasitic draws that flatten batteries in storage. See RV electrical.
  • LP gas, furnace and water heater. Furnaces that click but won’t light, water heaters that fault out, regulators that freeze up or leak, and LP detectors past their date. We leak-test and pressure-check before we call anything fixed. Furnaces and water heaters that won’t light after storage are a common spring call. See LP gas.
  • Victron, lithium and solar. As a Victron Energy Certified Installer we install and service MultiPlus inverter/chargers, SmartShunt monitors, Cerbo GX and VRM monitoring, DC-DC charging and solar. Lithium and Victron upgrades make storage easier, because lithium holds its charge and the system can be monitored from your phone. See Victron systems.

How a mobile visit works

  1. Call, text or book online with the year, make and model, what the rig is doing, and where it’s parked around Kent or Puyallup. Photos or a short video help.
  2. We ask a few questions first. Some problems are a setting or a tripped breaker, and we’ll tell you if a remote session can sort it out without a trip.
  3. If we need to come out, we set a day and a time window. Let the park office or storage facility know an outside technician is coming.
  4. On site we test before we replace: meter readings, load tests, and thermal imaging where it helps. You get a plain explanation and a quote before any repair starts.
  5. Most repairs are finished on the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you what and how long, then come back to finish.

Kent and Puyallup RV repair FAQ

Can you work on my RV in a storage lot?

Usually, yes, if the facility allows outside technicians. Send us the facility name, the gate code and the space number, and tell the office we’re coming.

Will you come to the fairgrounds RV park in Puyallup?

Yes, where the event center allows it. During the fair it’s busy, so text us early with your site number.

My rig sat all winter and now nothing works. Where do I start?

Usually with the batteries and the converter. We test both, check for a parasitic draw, then work through the generator and appliances. Many spring problems trace back to a dead or damaged battery bank.

I have a leak I can’t find. Can you find it without tearing the rig apart?

Usually, yes. Thermal imaging and moisture readings show where water is getting in and how far it has spread, so we only open up what needs opening.

Do you cover Auburn and Sumner?

Yes. Kent, Auburn, Sumner and Puyallup are all on our South Sound route days.
