Mobile RV service in Renton and south King County

Renton sits at the south end of Lake Washington where I-405, SR-167 and SR-169 come together. From here the Kent and Green River valleys run south toward Auburn, and SR-169 climbs southeast toward Maple Valley and Black Diamond, where a lot of RVs live on acreage. There are also plenty of storage lots in the valley and a busy KOA in Kent. We come to whichever of those your rig calls home.

If you searched for mobile RV repair near me or RV repair near me from Renton or Kent, we handle leaks, fridges, generators that won’t start, dead batteries, furnaces and water heaters, plus the bigger power work: lithium, solar and Victron systems, and Starlink, Peplink and weBoost.

United Mobile RV LLC is dealership-trained, 11+ years: a Victron Energy Certified Installer, a weBoost Certified Installer/Reseller, a Dometic Professional and a Peplink Certified Associate.

RV parks and campgrounds near Renton

We’re not affiliated with any of these parks. They’re places local RVers stay, and we’ll meet you at your site where the park allows outside technicians:

  • Seattle/Tacoma KOA: in Kent, in the valley off SR-167, one of the closest full-service parks to Renton.
  • Trailer Inns RV Park: in Bellevue off I-90, a short run north on I-405.
  • Kanaskat-Palmer State Park: on the Green River gorge east of Maple Valley, with 19 partial-hookup sites (water and electric) and no sewer.
  • Acreage and storage lots: across south King County, where most local rigs spend the off-season.

Partial-hookup parks like Kanaskat-Palmer mean relying on your own tanks, water pump and dump valves, so those need to work before you go.

RV life around Renton: valley rain, hill freezes and Rainier trips

The Green River valley is wet and often foggy from fall through spring. Rigs stored outside collect moss and standing water, and closed-up rigs build condensation inside. Most leaks we chase here start at a vent, the AC gasket or a clearance light that dried out over summer.

The plateau around Maple Valley and Black Diamond is higher than the valley floor and often colder. A few hard freezes most winters are enough to split lines in a rig that wasn’t winterized, and acreage rigs on long extension cords are especially exposed.

Lots of trips start here: SR-410 through Enumclaw toward Mount Rainier and Chinook Pass, SR-18 to I-90 and Snoqualmie Pass. Long grades put a load on brakes, tires and the generator, and campgrounds up there usually have no hookups.

Batteries die in storage. Lead-acid batteries that sit disconnected for months sulfate, and damp air corrodes terminals. A smart charger or small solar panel with a monitor prevents most of it.

RV repairs we do most around Renton

The calls we get most from Renton and south King County, with a short explanation of each:

  • Water leaks, soft floors and delamination. West of the Cascades, water is the number one enemy of an RV. Failed sealant around roof vents, the AC, clearance lights and window frames lets water into the walls, and by the time you see a stain or a soft spot it has been leaking a while. We trace leaks, reseal, and use thermal imaging and moisture readings to map how far the damage goes. We check the whole roof and the slide toppers, since pooled water on a topper often drains straight into a slide seal. See roof and seals.
  • Refrigerators. Absorption fridges that cool on propane but not electric (or the reverse), fridges that won’t light, cooling-unit failures, and residential fridges that shut off because the inverter or batteries can’t keep up. As a Dometic Professional we work on Dometic units every week, and we troubleshoot Norcold and residential fridges too. Fridges that quit on the first warm trip of the year are a regular spring call. See our Dometic fridge guide and electrical and appliance repair.
  • Generator service and repair. We service and repair Onan, Generac and Kohler RV generators: oil, filters and plugs, plus surging, no-start and shut-down-under-load problems. Gas units that sit for months often surge because old fuel varnishes the carburetor; running the generator under load about once a month helps. Generators that sat all winter usually need fresh fuel and a carburetor cleaning before a Rainier trip. See generator service.
  • Winterizing and freeze damage. We winterize with a compressed-air blow-out, RV antifreeze where you want it, and a water heater bypass, and we fix the split fittings, cracked pump heads and leaking valves that a missed freeze leaves behind. Rigs on the plateau see harder freezes than the valley, so we pay extra attention to exposed lines and the water heater. See plumbing and our winterization guide.
  • 12V and shore power faults. Long extension cords from a house or shop to a rig on acreage cause low voltage, hot plugs and tripped breakers. We trace dead outlets, tripping GFCIs, burnt shore power plugs, converters that stopped charging and parasitic draws that flatten batteries in storage. See RV electrical.
  • Victron, lithium and solar. As a Victron Energy Certified Installer we install and service MultiPlus inverter/chargers, SmartShunt monitors, Cerbo GX and VRM monitoring, DC-DC charging and solar. For no-hookup campgrounds around Rainier, lithium plus solar with a MultiPlus means fewer generator hours. See Victron systems.
  • LP gas, furnace and water heater. Furnaces that click but won’t light, water heaters that fault out, regulators that freeze up or leak, and LP detectors past their date. We leak-test and pressure-check before we call anything fixed. Furnaces that won’t light after a summer off usually need a cleaning, an igniter or a sail switch adjustment. See LP gas.

How a mobile visit works

  1. Call, text or book online with the year, make and model, what the rig is doing, and where it’s parked in Renton or south King County. Photos or a short video help.
  2. We ask a few questions first. Some problems are a setting or a tripped breaker, and we’ll tell you if a remote session can sort it out without a trip.
  3. If we need to come out, we set a day and a time window. Let the park office or storage facility know an outside technician is coming.
  4. On site we test before we replace: meter readings, load tests, and thermal imaging where it helps. You get a plain explanation and a quote before any repair starts.
  5. Most repairs are finished on the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you what and how long, then come back to finish.
