Mobile RV service in Olympia and Thurston County
Olympia sits at the southern tip of Puget Sound, where I-5 meets US-101. That makes it the jumping-off point for the Olympic Peninsula and the coast, and a lot of RVers stage here before heading out. Rigs live in driveways in the west side neighborhoods, on acreage around Yelm, Tenino and Rochester, in storage lots along I-5 in Lacey and Tumwater, and in year-round parks south of town.
If you searched for mobile RV repair in Olympia or mobile RV repair near me, we handle the everyday problems (leaks, fridges, generators that won’t start, dead batteries) and the bigger power work: lithium, solar and Victron systems, plus Starlink, Peplink and weBoost for coast and peninsula trips.
United Mobile RV LLC is dealership-trained, 11+ years: a Victron Energy Certified Installer, a weBoost Certified Installer/Reseller, a Dometic Professional and a Peplink Certified Associate.

We’re not affiliated with any of these parks. They’re places local RVers stay, and we’ll meet you at your site where the park allows outside technicians:
- Millersylvania State Park: south of Tumwater, with water and 30-amp electric sites under big trees; no sewer at the sites.
- American Heritage Campground: about 6 miles south of Olympia, open year-round, with full and partial 30-amp back-in sites.
- Olympia Campground: in Tumwater, open year-round, with full-hookup 30-amp sites, mostly pull-throughs.
- Washington Land Yacht Harbor: in Lacey, an Airstream-only community and park.
- Storage lots and acreage: across Thurston County, where most local rigs actually live.
Water-and-electric sites like Millersylvania mean you’re relying on your own tanks and dump runs, so a working water pump, tank sensors and dump valves matter more there.
RV life around Olympia: rain, trees and the jump-off to the coast
Olympia is one of the wetter spots on Puget Sound, and many parks and driveways here sit under tall firs. Needles and moss hold water on the roof, gutters overflow onto slide toppers, and closed-up rigs build condensation inside. Most of the leaks and soft spots we find start with tired sealant that gets a whole wet season to work on.
Winters are usually mild, but a few nights below freezing, or a multi-day arctic outbreak, are enough to split lines in a rig that wasn’t winterized. The year-round park residents deal with frozen hoses and heat tape failures on those nights.
This is the gateway to US-101. Trips around the Olympic Peninsula and out to Westport, Ocean Shores and Long Beach bring salt air, long stretches without cell signal and campgrounds without hookups. A pre-trip check of batteries, the generator, tires and brakes saves a lot of trouble on the far side of the peninsula.
Rigs stored on rural acreage around Yelm and Rochester often sit for months on a long extension cord or no power at all, and the batteries pay for it.
RV repairs we do most around Olympia
The calls we get most from Olympia and Thurston County, with a short explanation of each:
- Water leaks, soft floors and delamination. West of the Cascades, water is the number one enemy of an RV. Failed sealant around roof vents, the AC, clearance lights and window frames lets water into the walls, and by the time you see a stain or a soft spot it has been leaking a while. We trace leaks, reseal, and use thermal imaging and moisture readings to map how far the damage goes. Under the firs, we also check and clear roof drains and slide toppers, since pooled water is where many leaks begin. See roof and seals.
- Generator service and repair. We service and repair Onan, Generac and Kohler RV generators: oil, filters and plugs, plus surging, no-start and shut-down-under-load problems. Gas units that sit for months often surge because old fuel varnishes the carburetor; running the generator under load about once a month helps. Generators that sit through an Olympia winter usually need fresh fuel and a carburetor cleaning before the first coast trip. See generator service.
- Refrigerators. Absorption fridges that cool on propane but not electric (or the reverse), fridges that won’t light, cooling-unit failures, and residential fridges that shut off because the inverter or batteries can’t keep up. As a Dometic Professional we work on Dometic units every week, and we troubleshoot Norcold and residential fridges too. Fridges are a common call before peninsula trips, when people need them working on propane far from hookups. See our Dometic fridge guide and electrical and appliance repair.
- 12V and shore power faults. Long extension cords from a house or shop to a rig on acreage cause low voltage, overheated plugs and tripped breakers. We trace dead outlets, tripping GFCIs, burnt shore power plugs, converters that stopped charging and parasitic draws that flatten batteries in storage. See RV electrical.
- Victron, lithium and solar. As a Victron Energy Certified Installer we install and service MultiPlus inverter/chargers, SmartShunt monitors, Cerbo GX and VRM monitoring, DC-DC charging and solar. For peninsula and coast trips without hookups, lithium plus solar with a MultiPlus means fewer generator hours. See Victron systems.
- LP gas, furnace and water heater. Furnaces that click but won’t light, water heaters that fault out, regulators that freeze up or leak, and LP detectors past their date. We leak-test and pressure-check before we call anything fixed. Salt air on coast trips corrodes LP fittings and regulators, so we check those closely. See LP gas.
- Starlink, Peplink and weBoost. Mounting and powering Starlink, Peplink routers that fail over between Starlink and cellular, and weBoost boosters for weak signal. Coverage gets thin on US-101 and at the beaches, and Starlink with Peplink failover is the usual fix. See connectivity.
How a mobile visit works
- Call, text or book online with the year, make and model, what the rig is doing, and where it’s parked in Olympia or Thurston County. Photos or a short video help.
- We ask a few questions first. Some problems are a setting or a tripped breaker, and we’ll tell you if a remote session can sort it out without a trip.
- If we need to come out, we set a day and a time window. Let the park office or storage facility know an outside technician is coming.
- On site we test before we replace: meter readings, load tests, and thermal imaging where it helps. You get a plain explanation and a quote before any repair starts.
- Most repairs are finished on the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you what and how long, then come back to finish.
