Mobile RV service in Battle Ground and north Clark County

Battle Ground sits where SR-502 meets SR-503, about 20 minutes north of Vancouver. Beyond town the county opens into acreage, horse properties and small farms, and a lot of RVs live in barns, pole buildings and side yards out here. SR-503 continues north through Amboy toward Cougar and the Lewis River reservoirs on the south side of Mount St. Helens, so this is where many Clark County camping trips start.

If you searched for mobile RV repair near me from Battle Ground, we come to the rig, whether it’s in a driveway, a shop on acreage, a storage lot or a campsite. We fix generators, fridges, furnaces and water heaters, dead batteries, shore power faults and freeze damage, and we do lithium, solar and Victron upgrades and Starlink, Peplink and weBoost installs.

United Mobile RV LLC is dealership-trained, 11+ years: a Victron Energy Certified Installer, a weBoost Certified Installer/Reseller, a Dometic Professional and a Peplink Certified Associate.

RV parks and campgrounds near Battle Ground

We’re not affiliated with any of these parks. They’re places local RVers stay, and we’ll meet you at your site where the park allows outside technicians:

  • Battle Ground Lake State Park: northeast of town, with 6 water-and-electric sites for RVs up to 35 feet, plus standard sites.
  • Big Fir Campground and RV Park: in Ridgefield, with full hookups and 20/30/50-amp service under tall firs, open year-round.
  • Paradise Point State Park: off I-5 on the Lewis River north of Ridgefield, with 18 utility sites with water and electric and a 40-foot maximum.
  • Vancouver RV Park: in Hazel Dell, with full-hookup back-in and pull-through sites and 30/50-amp service.
  • Lewisville Regional Park: a historic county park on the East Fork Lewis River in Battle Ground, a favorite day trip.

Water-and-electric sites like Battle Ground Lake mean no sewer at the site, so tanks and dump valves need to be working before you go.

RV life around Battle Ground: rural storage, ice storms and mountain trips

North Clark County sits a little higher and farther from the river than Vancouver, and it’s often a few degrees colder on clear winter nights. When east wind comes out of the Gorge, freezing rain and ice storms can bring down branches and knock out power for days.

Many rigs here are stored on acreage, plugged into a barn or shop with a long cord, or not plugged in at all. That leads to low voltage, hot plugs, dead batteries in spring and mice in the underbelly and wiring.

Winters are wet, and roofs under the firs collect needles and moss. Leaks start at the usual places: vents, the AC gasket, clearance lights and slide toppers.

Summer trips head up SR-503 to the Lewis River reservoirs and Mount St. Helens, where campgrounds are often no-hookup and cell signal is thin. Batteries, the fridge and the generator need to carry the trip.

RV repairs we do most around Battle Ground

The calls we get most from Battle Ground and north Clark County, with a short explanation of each:

  • 12V and shore power faults. Long cords from a barn or shop cause low voltage, hot plugs and tripped breakers, and mice chew wiring in rigs that sit. We trace dead outlets, tripping GFCIs, burnt shore power plugs, converters that stopped charging and parasitic draws that flatten batteries in storage. See RV electrical.
  • Winterizing and freeze damage. We winterize with a compressed-air blow-out, RV antifreeze where you want it, and a water heater bypass, and we fix the split fittings, cracked pump heads and leaking valves that a missed freeze leaves behind. Rigs on acreage often lose power in ice storms, so we pay extra attention to exposed lines and the water heater. See plumbing and our winterization guide.
  • Generator service and repair. We service and repair Onan, Generac and Kohler RV generators: oil, filters and plugs, plus surging, no-start and shut-down-under-load problems. Gas units that sit for months often surge because old fuel varnishes the carburetor; running the generator under load about once a month helps. Generators get real use at no-hookup campgrounds up SR-503. See generator service.
  • Refrigerators. Absorption fridges that cool on propane but not electric (or the reverse), fridges that won’t light, cooling-unit failures, and residential fridges that shut off because the inverter or batteries can’t keep up. As a Dometic Professional we work on Dometic units every week, and we troubleshoot Norcold and residential fridges too. Fridges that won’t cool on propane are a common call before a Lewis River trip. See our Dometic fridge guide and electrical and appliance repair.
  • Water leaks, soft floors and delamination. West of the Cascades, water is the number one enemy of an RV. Failed sealant around roof vents, the AC, clearance lights and window frames lets water into the walls, and by the time you see a stain or a soft spot it has been leaking a while. We trace leaks, reseal, and use thermal imaging and moisture readings to map how far the damage goes. Rigs under the firs need roof checks every fall. See roof and seals.
  • Victron, lithium and solar. As a Victron Energy Certified Installer we install and service MultiPlus inverter/chargers, SmartShunt monitors, Cerbo GX and VRM monitoring, DC-DC charging and solar. Lithium and solar with a SmartShunt make no-hookup trips toward Mount St. Helens much easier. See Victron systems.
  • Starlink, Peplink and weBoost. Mounting and powering Starlink, Peplink routers that fail over between Starlink and cellular, and weBoost boosters for weak signal. Signal drops out quickly north of Amboy; a weBoost booster or Peplink router helps. See connectivity.

How a mobile visit works

  1. Call, text or book online with the year, make and model, what the rig is doing, and where it’s parked in Battle Ground or north Clark County. Photos or a short video help.
  2. We ask a few questions first. Some problems are a setting or a tripped breaker, and we’ll tell you if a remote session can sort it out without a trip.
  3. If we need to come out, we set a day and a time window. Let the park office or storage facility know an outside technician is coming.
  4. On site we test before we replace: meter readings, load tests, and thermal imaging where it helps. You get a plain explanation and a quote before any repair starts.
  5. Most repairs are finished on the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you what and how long, then come back to finish.
