Mobile RV service in Sequim and the Dungeness Valley
Sequim sits in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and gets about 16 inches of rain a year, far less than the rest of the peninsula. That drier, sunnier weather is a big reason so many RVers spend months here, and why Sequim is one of the better places in western Washington to run solar. The town fills with seasonal and long-stay rigs, retirees with a motorhome in the driveway, and summer visitors using it as a base for the park and the Strait.
We come to your RV park, campsite or driveway in Sequim and the Dungeness Valley. Our core work is Victron, solar and lithium, Starlink and Peplink, plus diagnostics for 12V faults, shore power and appliances. Long stays are a good time for upgrades, and coaches that sit for months have their own problems: dead batteries, failing converters and corroded connections.
United Mobile RV LLC is dealership-trained, 11+ years: a Victron Energy Certified Installer, a weBoost Certified Installer/Reseller, a Dometic Professional and a Peplink Certified Associate.

We’re not affiliated with any of these parks. They’re common Sequim stays, and we’ll meet you at your site where the park allows outside technicians:
- Sequim Bay State Park: on the bay east of town, which takes RVs up to about 40 feet.
- Dungeness Recreation Area: a Clallam County park on the bluff above the Strait next to Dungeness Spit. There are no hookups, so it’s a real test of your batteries and solar.
- Rainbow’s End RV Park: a year-round park with full hookups and pull-through and back-in sites for rigs up to 40 feet.
- Olympic Peninsula/Port Angeles KOA Journey: west of Sequim on US-101, with full-hookup and pull-through sites.
If you’re here for the season, let the office know an outside technician is coming and send us your site number.
RV life around Sequim: sun, wind and long stays
With more sun than most of western Washington, Sequim is a good place to add or upgrade solar. Summer output is strong, and even in winter a well-sized array does more here than it would in Forks or Seattle. Winter output still drops, so we size battery capacity and backup charging for the darker months, not just July.
It’s still marine weather. Wind off the Strait and damp winters corrode battery terminals, grounds and shore power plugs, and rigs parked near the water see it first. Flickering lights, tripping GFCIs and a converter that stopped charging are often a corroded connection rather than a failed part.
Long stays have their own wear. Coaches that sit for months get dead batteries, converters that cook old lead-acid banks, and slide and leveling systems that stick from lack of use. Monitoring with a Victron shunt or Cerbo GX catches problems before they turn into a dead rig the morning you want to leave.
Summer is busy, especially around the lavender festival in July. Winter is quieter and a good time for upgrades before spring trips. The Olympic Discovery Trail runs through town, and Dungeness Spit and the wildlife refuge are next to the county recreation area.
What we work on in Sequim
The work we do most for Sequim RVers:
- Solar that actually pays off. We size panels and charge controllers for dry camping at places like Dungeness and for long stays at a park, and we fix underperforming arrays: wrong controller settings, undersized wiring and shaded panels. Our solar sizing guide shows how.
- Victron, lithium and solar. As a Victron Energy Certified Installer we install and service MultiPlus inverter/chargers, SmartShunt monitors, Cerbo GX and VRM monitoring, DC-DC charging and solar. A LiFePO4 bank with VRM monitoring is a good fit for seasonal stays and boondocking. See Victron systems.
- Snowbird and long-stay rigs. Coaches that sit for months get dead batteries, failing converters and corroded connections. We check the system, replace what’s failing and set up monitoring so you can see the batteries from your phone.
- Starlink, Peplink and weBoost. Mounting and powering Starlink, Peplink routers that fail over between Starlink and cellular, and weBoost boosters for weak signal. For full-timers we set up Starlink, weBoost and Peplink so they switch between connections automatically. See connectivity.
- 12V and shore power faults. Marine air off the Strait corrodes plugs, terminals and grounds, so we clean, test and replace connections. We trace dead outlets, tripping GFCIs, burnt shore power plugs, converters that stopped charging and parasitic draws that flatten batteries in storage. See RV electrical.
- Refrigerators. Absorption fridges that cool on propane but not electric (or the reverse), fridges that won’t light, cooling-unit failures, and residential fridges that shut off because the inverter or batteries can’t keep up. As a Dometic Professional we work on Dometic units every week, and we troubleshoot Norcold and residential fridges too. Fridges, furnaces and water heaters get diagnosed at your site. See our Dometic fridge guide and electrical and appliance repair.
- LP gas, furnace and water heater. Furnaces that click but won’t light, water heaters that fault out, regulators that freeze up or leak, and LP detectors past their date. We leak-test and pressure-check before we call anything fixed. Furnaces run much of the year here, so a furnace that won’t light or short-cycles is a priority call. See LP gas.
How a mobile visit works
- Call, text or book online with the year, make and model, what the rig is doing, and where it’s parked in Sequim. Photos or a short video help.
- We ask a few questions first. Some problems are a setting or a tripped breaker, and we’ll tell you if a remote session can sort it out without a trip.
- If we need to come out, we set a day and a time window. Let the park office or storage facility know an outside technician is coming.
- On site we test before we replace: meter readings, load tests, and thermal imaging where it helps. You get a plain explanation and a quote before any repair starts.
- Most repairs are finished on the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you what and how long, then come back to finish.

OUR TOOL KIT
Our tool kit for Sequim RVers
Products we’d actually point a Sequim RVer toward for solar, long stays and staying connected. Certified-brand gear first.
- Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controller: a Victron solar controller that gets the most out of Sequim’s extra sun.
- Victron SmartShunt battery monitor: true state of charge, so you know what the solar is really putting back.
- Victron MultiPlus 12/3000/120 inverter/charger: a Victron inverter/charger for running the coach off a lithium bank.
- Peplink MAX Transit Duo Pro router, installed by us: a dual-modem Peplink router for full-timers who need a connection that holds.
- Progressive Industries EMS-PT30X portable surge protector: a portable surge protector and EMS for 30-amp rigs. It cuts power on high or low voltage, an open neutral or a miswired pedestal before that takes out a converter or air conditioner. A 50-amp version is on our recommended gear page.
We don’t have a verified link we’re happy with yet for dehumidifiers or RV antifreeze, so pick those up locally; any small compressor dehumidifier and pink RV antifreeze (never automotive) will do. Out here, buy before you leave Port Angeles or Aberdeen. More picks on our recommended gear page, and parts we carry in the United Mobile RV shop.

Sequim RV repair FAQ
Is solar worth it in Sequim?
More than most places in western Washington, thanks to the rain shadow. Winter output still drops, so we size battery capacity and backup charging for the darker months, not just summer.
Can you upgrade my rig while it sits at an RV park for the season?
Yes. Long stays are a good time for lithium, inverter or solar work. Check with the park office that outside technicians are allowed and send us your site number.
Do you come out to Dungeness Recreation Area?
Yes, where the county park allows it. Sites have no hookups, so bigger jobs may be better done at a full-hookup park.
Do you also cover Port Townsend?
Yes, on our Olympic Peninsula route days. See our Port Townsend page and text us your location.
Can you check my Victron system without coming out?
Often, yes. A remote session through Victron VRM sorts out a lot of charging and settings problems. If we do need to come out, we’ll know what to bring.
What does a visit cost?
The on-site diagnostic visit is $175. It’s a standalone fee for on-site troubleshooting. Labor is $150/hr.
