Spring: Getting Back on the Road

DON’T ASSUME STORAGE WAS KIND TO IT

—  De-winterize the water system — full procedure in the Winterization Guide
—  Full roof and seal inspection before the first trip — see the Roof service page
—  Check tire pressure and inspect for winter flat-spotting or sidewall cracking — see the Tires, TPMS & Brakes Guide
—  Test the breakaway switch and inspect brake magnets before towing season starts
—  Run the generator under load and change oil/filter if due — see the Generator Guide
—  Check battery state of charge and bring lithium up from storage percentage — see the Electrical & Power Systems service page

Summer: Heavy-Use Season

MOST SYSTEMS ARE WORKING HARDEST NOW

—  Clean AC air filters and condenser coils monthly during heavy use — see the Dometic AC Guide for the performance test
—  Check tire pressure before every trip — hot pavement and full loads are the worst combination for tire heat
—  Monitor solar/battery performance in peak sun — check for shading issues as trees leaf out
—  Keep an eye on holding tank levels and sensor accuracy with more frequent use — see the Holding Tank Guide
—  Awning wind sensor checks before storm season in your travel area — see the Dometic Awning section

Fall: Last Trips & Prep

CATCH PROBLEMS BEFORE THE FIRST FREEZE, NOT AFTER

—  Last roof/seal inspection of the season while it’s still easy to work on the roof — see the Roof service page
—  Check furnace/DSI ignition before you need heat on a cold trip
—  Inspect propane regulator and detector age — see the LP Gas service page
—  Plan your winterizing date around your local first-freeze forecast, not a calendar date
—  Address any deferred maintenance now — it’s much easier to get a service appointment before the seasonal rush

Winter Storage

FULL PROCEDURE IN THE WINTERIZATION GUIDE

—  Full water system winterizing, battery storage prep, tire care, and rodent-proofing all covered step by step in the Winterization & De-Winterization Guide
—  If you full-time or use the rig year-round in cold climates instead of storing it, see tank heater guidance in the Holding Tank Guide
