Mobile RV Repair in Bellingham and Skagit, WA

From Blaine and Birch Bay at the top of I-5, down through Bellingham and the Skagit flats to Anacortes and Deception Pass, the North Sound is full of RVs: in driveways, in storage lots off I-5, and at some of the busiest state parks in Washington. United Mobile RV comes to your rig anywhere in Whatcom and Skagit counties, so you don’t have to tow it to a shop.

Most of our work up here is power and connectivity (Victron, solar and lithium, Starlink and Peplink), plus diagnostics for 12V faults, shore power problems and appliances that quit before a trip.

United Mobile RV LLC is dealership-trained with 11+ years: a Victron Energy Certified Installer, a weBoost Certified Installer/Reseller, a Dometic Professional, and a Peplink Certified Associate.

Highways and routes

  • I-5 is the spine of the North Sound, from Mount Vernon through Bellingham to Blaine.
  • SR-20 runs west from Burlington to Anacortes and over the Deception Pass Bridge onto Whidbey. East of Sedro-Woolley it becomes the North Cascades Highway, whose mountain section closes in winter.
  • SR-11, Chuckanut Drive, is a narrow, winding 21-mile shoreline road past Larrabee State Park. Bigger rigs are usually better off on I-5.
  • SR-542, the Mount Baker Highway, heads east from Bellingham toward the Mount Baker ski area.

Campgrounds and RV parks in Whatcom and Skagit counties

We’re not affiliated with any of these. They’re common North Sound stays, and we’ll meet you at your site:

  • Larrabee State Park on Chuckanut Drive, Washington’s first state park. It has 26 utility sites with water, power and sewer, and a 60-foot maximum site length at a limited number of them. A busy rail line runs through the park, so expect train noise.
  • Birch Bay State Park, between Bellingham and Blaine, with partial-hookup sites and room for RVs up to 60 feet. From mid-September to mid-May camping is first-come, first-served in the North Loop, and water may be shut off for winter.
  • Deception Pass State Park, with partial-hookup sites (water and electric) at Cranberry Lake and Quarry Pond. Since winter storm damage, the West Beach parking area is closed to RVs and trailers over 25 feet.
  • Washington Park, a city of Anacortes campground on Fidalgo Head, open year-round. Most of its sites have water and electric.
  • Bay View State Park on Padilla Bay west of Mount Vernon, with partial-hookup sites for RVs up to 50 feet.
  • Bellingham RV Park, a private park just off I-5 at the Bakerview exit, with full hookups.

What we work on in the North Sound

  • Partial-hookup living. Deception Pass, Birch Bay and Bay View give you water and power but no sewer at the site. Tank sensors, water pumps and the 12V side get a workout between dump runs, and we keep them working.
  • Salt air at the bay parks. Birch Bay, Anacortes and Deception Pass are right on salt water. Corroded grounds, battery terminals and shore power plugs cause most of the strange intermittent faults we see. See RV electrical.
  • Pedestal problems. Busy parks mean worn pedestals and long cords. We check your shore power setup, fix burnt plugs and add an EMS so a bad pedestal can’t damage the coach. See our surge protector and EMS guide.
  • Lithium and Victron upgrades for dry camping and winter storage, including low-temperature charge protection. See Victron systems.
  • Signal under the trees. Forested sites at Larrabee and Deception Pass can block both cell and satellite. We place Starlink where it can see the sky and add weBoost and Peplink. See connectivity.
  • Appliances and diagnostics. Furnaces, fridges, water heaters, slides and roof AC, diagnosed at your driveway or campsite.

Seasonal notes

April is tulip month in the Skagit Valley. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival runs through April, and the farm roads get busy on weekends, so we plan Skagit days around it. Summer fills Birch Bay, Larrabee and Deception Pass. Winters are mostly wet and mild, but cold snaps can bring hard freezes and strong northeast wind to Whatcom County. That’s rough on batteries and water lines in stored rigs, so fall is a good time for a battery check and low-temperature protection.

While you’re here

  • Chuckanut Drive, with views over Samish Bay toward the San Juan Islands. It’s a better drive in the tow car than in the big rig.
  • Deception Pass Bridge and the Rosario Beach tide pools at Deception Pass State Park.
  • The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, every April around Mount Vernon and La Conner.
  • The Mount Baker Highway, a day trip east from Bellingham into the North Cascades.

Pricing

On-site diagnostic visit: $175. Labor: $150/hr. The $175 diagnostic is a standalone fee for on-site troubleshooting. You’ll get a quote before any repair work starts. The details are on our pricing page.

Help before we get there

Not sure you need a visit? A remote support session by video or through Victron VRM can sort out many charging and settings problems, and if we do need to come out, we’ll have the right parts on the truck.

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Blaine, Birch Bay and Lynden?

Yes. Everything in Whatcom County along I-5, SR-539 and the Birch Bay area is on our North Sound route days.

Can you come to Deception Pass or Larrabee State Park?

Yes, where park rules allow. Send us your site number and let the camp host know a technician is coming. Big jobs may be easier at a full-hookup park or your driveway.

We store our trailer in Whatcom County over winter. How do we keep the batteries healthy?

Disconnect or monitor the small loads that drain the bank, keep it charged, and don’t charge lithium below freezing without protection. We can set up a disconnect, a monitor or Victron low-temperature cutoffs that fit how you store the rig.

Do you go to the San Juan Islands?

Not as a regular route. The ferry from Anacortes adds a lot of time, so island visits are case by case. Text us first, and try remote support.
